Boxing for a Cause is our way of giving back to our community. Every year, Image in a Box holds an annual contest via Downtown Huntsville's Tinsel Trail to get the whole community involved in our monetary contribution during the season of giving.
For this event, our team selects three nonprofits to compete in a public voting contest to see who will win the grand prize of a $1,500 donation. Not to worry, each nonprofit receives a small monetary gift, but only one wins the grand prize!
One of Michelle's picks, Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, made it to the final round of the competition.
Huntsville-Madison County Public Library (HMCPL) is a nonprofit 12-branch system that serves all of Madison County, Ala. For 200 years, the library has been dedicated to enriching the educational, recreational and cultural lives of communities in Madison County through materials, information and programs that foster a lifelong love of learning.
Why Michelle Chose the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library
Michelle chose the HMCPL to be part of the this year's contest because of her love of learning and enjoyment of the programs the library provides. She says, "I love learning! And knowing that the library provides a way for everybody in our community to satisfy their love of learning no matter their means means a lot to me. Plus, having a toddler, I frequently take part in the library's free programming that promotes a love of learning and reading in my own child. I hope my pick is able to win first place in this year's contest so they can put the dollars to work further enriching lives in our community."
